sliding friction as the name suggest is the resistance created by two objects that slide against each other.


To make it simpler to understand you must have a look at all these everyday sliding friction examples-
--rubbing both hands to create heat (heat is generated when both the hands slide over each other)
--a person sliding down a slide
--a block being slid across the floor

As these examples show, there are many different situations where sliding friction exists and where sliding friction creates resistance as objects rub against each other.
