Smoky fog is called smog, which is a type of air pollution. It is caused by burning large amount of coal. In present times, smog are caused due to vehicular emission, industrial fumes which react in atmosphere along with sunlight to form photochemical smog.

This photochemical smog contains toxic mixture of air pollutants like sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone and other volatile organic compounds.

The air pollutants from smog cause serious problems to senior citizens, children and people with heart and lung problems leading to emphysema, bronchitis, asthma.

Smog is type of air pollutant. The word smog was coined in the early 20th century as a portmanteau of the words smoke amd fog refers to smoky fog, its opacity and odour. Exposure to smog can lead to several different types of short term health problems due to ots ozone content. These include : Coughing and throat or chest irritation.. High levels of ozone can irritate our respiratory system, generally lasting for few hours after we have been exposed to smog...

Hope this helps!!
