Scratch is designed to be fun, educational, and easy to learn. It has tools for creating interactive stories, games, art, simulations, and more, using block-based programming. Scratch also has its own paint editor and sound editor built-in.Scratch helps children learn the basics of coding through hands-on game and story creation. (Of course, people of all ages can have fun with Scratch!) ... Since computers are getting more and more an integral part of life, it is actually quite logical that languages to teach children programming are getting popular.

1) Scratch allows for young people to integrate creativity in storytelling, games, and animation. Kids can collaborate on projects through the use of Scratch, and share their projects online. 2) Scratch allows students to develop 21st century skills through the use of technology.

Scratch is a free educational block-based programming language that was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with over 64 million registered users and 67 million shared projects.[1] The current version, 3.0, can be accessed with the online editor here or downloaded here (the previous version, Scratch 2.0, can be downloaded here). It is geared towards kids ages to 8-16 from 2nd grade to high school.
