Answer:

Soap is basically a salt of Sodium or Potassium, that is made out of the reaction of an organic fat or fatty acid with strong bases or alkalis like Sodium Hydroxide. Various oils like olive oil, palm oil, and various vegetable oils are used in the making of soap.

Soap is made in the laboratory by the process of Saponification. The process involves reacting a vegetable oil like palm oil or olive oil with an alkali like Sodium Hydroxide. This reaction is exothermic in nature, liberating heat during the reaction. The final white suspension that are the products of the reaction, contain soap and glycerol.
