The religious reform was a pre requisite for social reforms as social life of both Muslim and Hindus were influenced by religious tenets. Animal sacrifice, physical torture was common to appease god.Although religion reform was the integral part of these movements none of them were totally religious in character. They were humanist in aspiration and rejected salvation and otherworldliness as the agenda.
