༒Chemical Formula of Sodium Hydroxide is NaOH.

༒It is manufactured by passing electricity through an aqueous solution of sodium chloride called Brine . Which decomposes to form Sodium Hydroxide.

༒And this Process is called Chlor-Alkali Process. because of the products formed Chlor for chlorine and alkali for Sodium Hydroxide.

༒Reaction :----

NaCl+2H2O————>2NaOH+Cl2+H2

(by passing electricity called this reaction electrolysis)

༒During Electrolysis Chlorine gas, Cl2 is liberated at anode while hydrogen gas, H2 is evolved at Cathode. Sodium Hydroxide solution is formed near the cathode.(it's also called Caustic soda).
