Soil conservation is a methodology to maintain soil fertility, prevent soil erosion, exhaustion, desertification and to restore the degraded soil characteristics such as moisture holding capacity, humus content, and other nutrients.

Some of measures to conserve soil:1). Checking faulty practices:a). Checking the open cultivable lands on slopes from farming and promoting them to convert into a permanent postures or promoting terrace farming will prevent the soil erosion.b).Preventing over grazing and shifting cultivation.c).Preventing over usage of chemical fertilizers and promoting bio-fertilizers.2).Crop Management:a).
