Soil erosion is basically the removal of the topmost and most fertile layer of the soil. It can be caused due to wind, rain, excessive use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides etc. However, the eroded soil is not as fertile as it was earlier. The fertility of the soil is ruined and hence the soil is no more fit for agriculture.
