Soil erosion is defined as the wearing away of topsoil. Topsoil is the top layer of soil and is the most fertile because it contains the most organic, nutrient-rich materials. One of the main causes of soil erosion is water erosion, which is the loss of topsoil due to water.

Rainfall, and the surface runoff which may result from rainfall, produces four main types of soil erosion: splash erosion, sheet erosion, rill erosion, and gully erosion.

Hi .

here is your answer .

soil erosion :=)

The displacement of soil particles due to the environmental factors. or degradation of soil. is known as soil erosion .

TYPES OF SOIL EROSION =)

1. Water erosion := Due to the environmental factor water i.e. rain or flood displacement of soil particles takes place is known as water erosion

2. Wind erosion := Wind erosion is caused by sudden high intensity of wind give force to displace soil particles. is known as wind erosion.

Actually displacement of soil particles cause the changes in fertility of land. and it is not good for crop. for prevention we have to applied commen process i .e. mulching

hope it helps you ☺
