Soil pollution refers to anything that causes contamination of soil and degrades the quality of soil. It also define as the presence of toxic chemicals in soil ,in high enough concentration to pose a risk to human health & our ecosystem .

Soil Pollution:-

Soil is an natural layer on the surface of earth, but sometimes, some of living organism's practices can be harmful for soil. It's known as soil pollution.

Soil pollution is a process in which there is occurence of change in physical and chemical conditions of soil.

Sources of soil pollution:-

• Solid wastes like garbage, plastic, cans and bottles thrown into soil, causes soil pollution.

• Pesticides and harmful chemicals sprayed in fields.

• Excessive using of artificial fertilizers also causes soil pollution.

• Over irrigation in fields, can lead to soil pollution, like in Haryana and Punjab.

Methods to control soil pollution:-

• By reducing uses of chemicals or artificial products in fields, we can control it.

• Planting more and more trees and stop afforestation can reduce the soil pollution.

• By removing industrial waste from soil.
