A Solenoid is a long hollow tube with turn ups if copper wire which when connected to a battery acts as a magnet . It's two ends act like North pole and South Pole.

Uses of Solenoid :

( 1 ) Due to the heating effect of Solenoid ,They are used in Heaters .

( 2 ) Solenoids are also used in refrigerators.
