the molecules in the solid are closely packed together and contains the least amount of kinetic energy.

There are two main categories of solid . crystalline and amorphous . Crystalline solids are well ordered at the atomic level , and amorphous solids are disorder . There are four types of crystalline solids are - molecular solids , network solids, ionic solids and metallic solids .
