There are actually three types of matter -- solid, liquid, gas .

Solid is a matter type in which the molecules of a solid are tightly - packed. Unlike others (liquids and gases), solids do not flow (like a liquid) and does not move around freely (like gases). They are found in objects like pen, pencil, book, planets, stars, etc.
