This is process of reproduction in the members of basidiomycetes usually.

Steps of somatogamy reproduction are as follows:-

1. First step of somatogamy is that different different genotypes come in contact.

2. Second step is plasmogamy means fusion in the apical ends occurs.

3. Cells will become binucleate by the process of clamp connection.

4. Now there will be formation of club shaped structure that is called as basidium.

5. Karyogamy process occurs after basidium.

6. Last step is of occuring of meiosis then there will be formation of new mycelium.
