The hognose snake is a type of snake characterized by an upturned snout. When threatened, hognose snakes will flatten their necks and raise their heads off the ground, like acobra, and hiss. For most hog nose snakes the bulk of theirdietis made up byrodents, andlizards. They do have venom but it is not considered medically significant to humans. The most severe recorded bites have been limited primarily to localised swelling and blistering and these were under extreme circumstances (deliberate allowing of prolonged chewing). Effects that are utterly inconsistent with allergy.
