sonar stands for sound navigation and ranging .

the ultra sonic sound waves are transmitted from a device which produces it from a medium.

then the ultra sound either rebounds or a reciver is placed on the other end .

Its uses:-

1. used to detect any defects of metals in metal industries.

2. used in ships and submarines for decting the depth of sea.

3. used in ultrasound machines in hospital to look in the body.
