Generally,toothpastes are alkaline in nature,i.e,more pH value.Toothdecay occurs when the pH of mouth falls below 5.5 due to bacteria present in the buccal cavity which produces acids and hence the pH of mouth falls.....Using toothpastes can help increasing the pH of the buccal cavity and thus,preventing tooth decay as well......
