Specific conductivity also known as conductivity is the measure of the ability of that material to conduct electricity. It is represented by the symbol “К”. Hence, by definition,

G = 1R

R= ρ1A

К= 1ρ

G =К Al

Where,

К = conductivity,

ρ = resistivity of the material

G= conductance

R= resistance

l = length

A= area of cross section

The conductance of a material depends on the nature of the material, no. of valence electrons for a material and temperature.

Hope this helps !

specific conductance of an electrolytesolution is the measure of its ability to conduct electricity.The SI unit of conductivity is siemens per meter.

specific conductance, k is the reciprocal of the specific resistance. conductivity is alsotemperature dependent. sometimesthe ratio of the one and A is called as the cell constant, denoted as G, and conductance is denoted as G.
