Speed definition

Speed is defined as the distance traveled by an object per unit time.

Formula :

Speed = distance / time

Notes to remember :

Speed of a photon is the highest .

The speed of a photon is 3 × 10⁸ m/s.

Many other particles have the same speed.

however according to the Theory of relativity no other particle can be faster than the above mentioned speed.

Speed is depended on these factors :

(i) Speed is directly proportional to distance traveled .

(ii) Speed is inversely proportional to time .

Speed of a body is said to be zero when it is at rest.

Speed of a body under several forces if remains zero , then the phenomenon is called static equilibrium .

Average Speed of a body is the average of all the speeds in the given time or distance.

Average speed = total distance / total time .

Hope it helps !
