A mode of reproduction resembling multiple fission, common among Protozoa, in which the organism breaks up into a number of pieces, or spores, each of which eventually develops into an organism like the parent form. The formation of reproductive cells or spores, as in the growth of bacilli.

Spore Formation

Spore formation is an asexual mode of reproduction where the parent plant produces hundreds of tiny spores which grow into a new organism. It is mostly found in non-flowering plants and bacteria. Examples include => Fungi : Rhizopus, Penicillium, Bread mould , and for bacteria : Bacillus and Clostridium.

Spores

A spore is a unit of sexual or asexual reproduction that may be adapted for dispersal and for survival, often for extended periods of time, in unfavourable conditions. Spores form part of the life cycles of many plants, algae, fungi and protozoa.[1] Bacterial spores are not part of a sexual cycle but are resistant structures used for survival under unfavourable conditions. Myxozoan spores release amoebulae into their hosts for parasitic infection, but also reproduce within the hosts through the pairing of two nuclei within the plasmodium, which develops from the amoebula.
