Some points on stabilizing selection are as follows:-

1. This is the only selection which favours the average or normal phenotype & it also eliminates the extreme variations.

2. In this means value does not changes in any natural selection.

3. Peak goes higher and it becomes narrower because as more for more individuals more characters are required.

4. It always operates in constant environment.

5. Best example of this type selection is that mortality in human babies as the maximum birth weight is to be of 7.3 pounds by stabilizing selection.

6. But in case of new born infants it is going to be less than 5.5 pounds and may be higher than 10 pounds if there is highest mortality rate.
