It is mirzapur in Uttar pradesh. It has been selected so because it is nearly center of the whole India so there would be no much difference in time between different places.

Standard Meridian of India is longitude 82 and a half ° east. It passes through Allahabad in India. It is selected to avoid time confusion in railway timetables, air schedules etc as there is a time lag of two hours between the eastern most and western most states of India. For example, In Arunachal Pradesh there is a flight which takes off at 6:00AM and is scheduled to reach Ahemdabad in Gujarat at 8:00 AM. But for Gujarat it will be 10:00AM for the arrival of flight. Thus, to avoid such confusions Standard Meridian of India is selected which passes almost from the centre of India.
