STANDARD UNITS OF MEASUREMENTS. Scientists all over the world have accepted astandard unit of measurement known as International System of Units or SI Units. One meter has 100 divisions known as the Centimeters. Each centimeter has 10 equal divisions called millimeters. Hence 1m=100 cm and 1cm=10mm.

Rishiratan: A unit of measurement is a definite magnitude of a quantity, defined and adopted by convention or by law, that is used as a standard for measurement of the same kind of quantity. Any other quantity of that kind can be expressed as a multiple of the unit of measurement. For example, a length is a physical quantity.
