The chemical formula (C6H10O5) n, is a poly-saccharidecarbohydrate formed by the addition of a large number of units of glucose monosaccharide by glycosidic bonds. It is found only in plants. The starch is present as amylose or amylopepsin in the seeds and legumes of all plants.
