Scale Statement. A scale statement appears in a scale drawing and states the ratio of a length in the drawing to an equivalent length in the real world. Example. In the scale drawing of the Eiffel Tower below, the "scale statement" in the drawing is "Scale: 1 cm : 36 m".

Advantages :

(i) This is very simple method which is understood even by a common man. (ii) It requires little time to express this scale. (iii) It gives correct idea about distance.
