When force of friction is more than applied force or equal, it doesn't move, then net force will be zero.Or, when we apply force to move a stationary object, then force of friction is applied in the opposite direction and cancels out the force and object doesn't move. Thus, Static friction is also called self-adjusting force. In order to overcome the irregularities between object and surface, we must have to apply a greater force.when it moves the static changes into kinetic friction.
