Answer:

it is one of the type of a friction

Explanation:

actually the think is that we have classified friction into three categories

1. static friction

2. limiting friction

3. dynamic friction

soo, lets start with static friction

static friction is basically a friction acting on a body when a body is at rest.

WHY STATIC BECAUSE THE WORD STATIC IS CAME FROM STATIONARY WHICH MEANS STOPPED OR YOU CAN SAY THE BODY IS AT REST.

CASE 1:

WHY A BRICK DOES NOT MOVE WHEN IT IS PLACED ON A FLOOR?

BECAUSE OF STATIC FRICTION .

CASE 2:

WHY A MOVING CYCLE GET STOPPED AFTER SOME TIME ?

BECAUSE OF DYNAMIC FRICTION .

CASE 3:

WHY WE FACE DIFFICULTY WHILE DISLOCATING  AN OBJECT FROM ITS REST POSITION TO IN ITS MOVING POSITION. WHY?

THIS IS BECAUSE OF LIMITING FRICTION. WE FACE DIFFICULTY TO JUST MOVE AN OBJECT FROM ITS REST POSITION.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ABOVE FROM ALL THE CASES I HOPE U GET TO KNOW THAT WHAT IS STATIC FRICTION AND other TWO TYPES (LIMITING, DYNAMIC).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAST EXAMPLE : WHEN A CAR IS AT REST IT FEELS STATIC FRICTION . WHEN IT JUST BEGAN  TO MOVE IT FEELS LIMITING FRICTION AND WHEN IT FINALLY STARTS MOVING IT REGULARLY STARTS FEELING DYNAMIC FRICTION.

THANK U

Explanation:

The friction that not in any kind of movement or any kind of source is applying an opposite force or in simple language we can say that which is in rest position
