A static force refers to a constant force applied to a stationary object. A static force is too weak to move an object because it is being countered by equally strong opposite forces. The most common example of a static force is staticfriction on a stationary object.

The law of static friction states that the force of friction, that resists the motion of the body as it starts to fall down the surface, is proportional to the normal (perpendicular) force that the body exerts on the surface.

law of static friction is limiting friction depend on the nature of the surface in contact and their state of polish.
