What is Step Up transformer
Answers
Answer:
Step up transformers is used to step up or increase the voltage which is done by secondry coil i.e the secondary has more no. of turns as when compared to primary coil so when a (v) amount of voltage is given to a primary coil it induces a mag field were there is secondary coil which gets disturbed due to the mag field of primary so there is a induction of current in secondry coil but the induced current here is very large due to more no of turns so the voltage compared in sec coil is more. therefore it acts as step up transformers
Answer:
Up transformer is
A transformer that increases the voltage from primary to secondary (more secondary winding turns than primary winding turns) is called a step-up transformer. ... As a step-down unit, this transformer converts high-voltage, low-current power into low-voltage, high-current power.

- Applications – Step-up transformer is used in transmission lines for transforming the high voltage produced by the alternator.
- The power loss of the transmission line is directly proportional to the square of the current flows through it.
- In the name plate of a transformer the primary side voltage as well as the secondary side voltage is mentioned.
- If the primary voltage is greater than the secondary voltage , then it is a step-down transformer and vice versa.
