In order to obtain silk from the cocoons firstly it is cooked in hot water, this process is known as stifling & then from the cocoons the silk fibre is now unwound.
While by the process of reeling, threads are removed. We can say this is a post cocoon processing.
Some common Disease of silkworms are as follows:-
1. Pebrine:- It is a protozoan disease which is caused by Nosema bombycis.
2. Green muscardine:- These are fungal types of diseases of silkworms.
