➡ Stratified compound epithelium is a type of tissue formed by several layers of epithelial cells.

➡ The cells consist of different shapes and size and including the newly matured cells.

➡ There main function is to protect the cells from wear and tear.

➡ These are of several types such as :

• Stratified squamous epithelium
• Stratified cuboidal epithelium
• Stratified columnar epithelium
• Transitional epithelium
