The aeroplanes and ships have streamlined shaped bodies because they travel in fluids(either liquid or gas) exerts a force opposite to the direction of motion when an object is moving in a fluid.

This frictional force is known as drag. In order to decrease this drag the objects are given a special shape or streamlined shape. So it becomes easier for the objects to move in fluids.
