Suberin is an apoplastic biopolymer found in the cell membranes of the endo- and exodermis of roots, periderms (including wound periderm), as well as other border tissues with tissue-specific deposits. Both polyaliphatic and polyaromatic domains in suberized cell walls are supposedly cross-linked.
