Subject is the part of a sentence about which something is said.

Predicate is the part of a sentence which says something about the subject.

For example - In the sentence, 'Ram is eating mango.' There is something said about Ram. So, Ram is the subject. And 'is eating mango' tells us what the subject is doing. So, it is the predicate of the sentence.
