Sublimation is a type of phase transition, or a change in a state of matter, just like melting, freezing, and evaporation. Through sublimation, a substance changes from a solid to a gas without ever passing through a liquid phase. Dry ice, solid CO2, provides a common example of sublimation.

- Change of solid state directly to gaseous state without going through liquid state is called sublimation.
- Examples :- Moth Ballsz, Freeze Drying, Air Fresheners, Dry Ice, Naphthalene balls etc.
Uses of Sublimation
- It is used by the chemist to purify compounds.
- The air freshener are used in washrooms. The air freshener sublimes and releases smell.
- Dry ice is used in cooling at a room temperature.
