Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state, without passing through the liquid state.

Explanation:

Sublimation os the process by which solid water is directly transformed into vapour water. Whole sublimation can occur at atmospheric pressure, the process is rather slow because the gas molecule from the ice must find their way the atmospheric gases that are bombarding the surface of the ice.
