What is sublimation
Explain with help of an activity & diagram
Answers
The process by which the solid state of a product is directly converted into gas is called sublimation. example: camphor, dry ice, water etc..,
Activity:
China dish, Bunsen burner, camphor
Procedure :
crush the camphor into the China dish and heat it over the flame with the help of Bunsen burner. Heat for a few minutes the solid camphor turn into liquid state. Again heat it for a few minutes the liquid state of camphor will evaporate and turn into gas
Hence, the sublimation process is proved by this experiment
Answer:
The process of change of gaseous state to solid without going through liquid state. This process is known as sublimation.
Activity:
1. Take some ammonium chloride, crush it and put it in a china dish.
2. Put an inverted funnel over the dish.
3. Put cotton plug or ball on the steam of funnel.
4. Now, heat slowly and observe.
Explanation:
Observation :
We can observe that the change of state directly from solid to gas without changing into liquid state.
