Sublimation is a process in which a solid changes into a gas directly without changing into liquid first. For example: Dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) sublimates into carbon dioxide vapour at room temperature and pressure. The following diagram shows the apparatus and set up of sublimation process of ammonium chloride.
