Sublimation:
It is a process in which solid which on heating vaporize without melting. And, on cooling, the vapours change directly back into the solids without going through liquid state. Such a change in the state of a solid is called sublimation.
The solid obtained as a result of sublimation is called the sublimate.

Sublimation is a type of phase transition, or a change in a state of matter, just like melting, freezing, and evaporation. Through sublimation, a substance changes from a solid to a gas without ever passing through a liquid phase. Dry ice, solid CO2, provides a common example of sublimation...Experiment,,Leave a few naphthelene balls in your basin...observe th after a few hours...you will notice that the balls have reduced in size..this is because napthelene sublimes at room temperature..
