subsistence farming is a process of cultivation in which whatever the farmers grows in his land and the crops that are harvested are consumed by the farmer and his family himself.he doesn't sells them in the market areas in order to earn profits.

in india ,due to large families and high population factors,generally the farmers practice to feed their families first.Also, high prices of living and scarcity of food plays a major reason.
