safranin is a red stain used to stain plant tissues. it is used for viewing the cell structure in detail. some organelles of the cell take up the stain and are more clearly visible to see through the microscope.

In experiment to prepare the temporary mount of a leaf peel to show stomata..we use glycerine to moist the leaf so that it guard cell can't be closed..or we use safranin because it is a stain which help us see clearly the cell in the stomata...
