Step-by-step explanation:

=1/4+1/3+1/8

Taking LCM of the denominators 4,3,8

Multiples of 4: 4,8,12,16,21,24,28,32,36...

Multiples of 8: 8,16,24,32,40,48,56...

Multiples of 3: 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36,39

Now the common multiple in all the three is 24 so LCM is 24

We have to make the denominators common by making them all as 24

Multiply and divide 1/4 by 6 as

1*6/4*6=6/24

Multiply and divide 1/3 by 8 as

1*8/3*8=8/24

Multiply and divide 1/8 by 3 as

1*3/8*3=3/24

Now add them together

=6/24+8/24+3/24

As the denominator is common we can write

=(6+8+3)/24

=17/24(Solution)
