A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture.

The size of suspended particles is greater than hundred nm .

The suspended particles can be seen with naked eyes or under a simple microscope.

When left undisturbed for sometime the suspended particle settle on the bottom of the container under the influence of gravity.

Suspended particles can be separated from the fluid medium by decantation and filtration.

Example - Muddy water.
