A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which solids are dispersed in liquids. The solute particles in suspension do not dissolve but remain suspended throughout the medium. For example Paints, Muddy water chalk water mixtures etc.
Properties of a Suspension
 Suspension is a heterogeneous Mixture.
The particles of a suspension can be seen by the naked eye.
The particles of a suspension scatter a beam of light passing through it and make its path visible.
The solute particles settle down when a suspension is left undisturbed, that is, a suspension is unstable. They can be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration.

Suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which the solute particles remain suspended in the solvent and do not completely dissolved in it
Properties of suspension are-
1. The size of particles in suspension is more than 100 mm
2. When you leave the solution in distributed for sometime the solute particles will settle down which means that the solution is unstable
3. Suspension does not scatter the beam of light passing through it which means it does not show tyndall effect.
4. The size of particles of suspension is very large that they can be seen with naked eyes.
5. Suspension can be filtered using a filter paper.
Examples- Chalk podwer in water, soil particles in water, etc.
