Synapse is the junction between two neurons. When an electric impulse passes through a neuron, a synapse acts as a bridge for that impulse to pass on to the neighbouring neuron.

Explanation:

A nerve impulse travels from one neuron to another neuron through a junction called synapse.

Electrical Synapse process:-

The electrical synapses, the membranes of pre- and post-synaptic neurons are in proximity so the electrical current flows directly from one neuron into the other. Transmission of an impulse across electrical synapses is similar to impulse conduction along a single axon and transmission is always faster than that of chemical synapses.
