Answer:

What are synthetic fibres?

The fibres that are man made are called synthetic fibres or man-made fibres.

More about synthetic fibres

Examples:-Rayon,Nylon,Polyster,Acrylic,Plastics.

Things made by synthetic fibres:-Ropes,parachutes,Plastic chairs, tables,Socks,Brushes etc.

Rayon

Rayon also known as artificial silk.Towards, the end of 19th century, scientists were successful in obtaining a fibre having properties similar to silk. That's why it is called artificial silk.

  • Rayon fibre is cheap than silk.

Nylon

Nylon is another man-made fibre. In 1931,it was made without using any natural raw materials. It is prepared from coal, water & air.It is also strong, elastic and light.

  • It was the first fully synthetic fibre.

Plastic

Plastic is also a polymer like synthetic fibre. All plastics don't have same type of arrangement of units. In some it is linear, whereas other it is cross-linked.

  • Plastics can be recycled, reused, coloured, melted, rolled into sheets
