The process of scattering light from the colloidal particles is called tyndall effect. there are two components of tyndall effect :
1) dispersed phase
2) dispesed medium
some solutions that show tyndall effect are suspension, colloidal tyndall effect shows only those heterogeneous mixture whose solute particles are larger in size more than 100 nm.
some examples are: light passing through a canopy of dense forest.

true solution does not show tyndall effect because their particles are completely dissloled in solvents their size is also very small.
