Silver get tarnishes by reacting with sulphur when it is exposed to atmosphere and forms a black colour coat

corrosion has different forms in iron it is called rusting and in silver it is called tarnishing

when silver is exposed to air it reacts with hydrogen sulphide and forms a black coating of silver sulphide and it is said to tarnished
