What is 'tasted of' mean in expression in poem 'fire and ice' ?

Fire stands for greed, conflict, fury, cruelty, passion and lust. Ice stands for insensitivity, coldness, intolerance, indifference, and hatred. "Tasted of" means the author, Robert Frost, has personally experienced both what fire and ice represent.
