Taxon represents a biological object and is assigned to acategory. For example, taxon of birds is aves and the category is class. Taxonomy of sponges is peripheral and the category is phylum.

A taxon (plural: taxa) is a group of organisms that are classified as a unit. This can be specific or general. For example, we could say that all humans are a taxon at the species level since they are all the same species, but we could also say that humans along with all other primates are a taxon at the order level, since they all belong to the order Primates

hope it help you

Taxonomic hierarchy means that each category of taxonomy are arranged hierarchical or step wise manner with kingdom occupying the top most position while species occupying the bottom most position......✌✌

Taxonomic categories are the components that make up the hierarchy like Kingdom, division, class, family, order etc. Kingdom makes a category. Each category into which organisms are classified such as kingdom, phylum etc are called taxa. Taxon is a singular of taxa.......✌✌
